WORLD

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER (GDOP) 17 -26 MAY 2012

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves & pray & seek my face & turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins & heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

The primary purpose of GDOP is for the glory of Christ & the blessing of the nations. " For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." Hab 2:14 Following the example of the first believers who joined together constantly in prayer until the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Global Day of Prayer is calling christians from all nations to unite in prayer.

10  Ten Days of constant prayer: 17 - 26 May 2012: Starting on the 17th, millions of christians will find ways to pray night & day throughout the 10 days leading to the Global Day of Prayer, following the pattern of Christ's followers before the 1st Pentecost.

1  The Global Day of Prayer: 27 May 2012: Christians in many countries will assemble to pray. Many will gather in small groups such as prayer groups, homes, local churches, businesses & some may even assemble in large stadiums & other public venues. In some places, television, radio & Internet will help to connect & align our prayers even more.

90  Ninety Days of blessing 13 June - 10 September 2012: As in the 1st Pentecost, transformed christians transform their communities as they offer themselves to God as instruments through which their prayers can be answered. The GDOP anticipates the forming or the furthering of local alliances among pastors, churches, missions & business leaders to bring practical, transformational blessing to their communities. This is where prayer becomes a lifestyle.

MALAYSIA

1 Pray for a vision of God's kingdom & the inspiration & courage to build it as God is love - for a world where the weak are protected & none go hungry; where the riches of creation are shared & everyone can enjoy them; where all races & cultures live in harmony & mutual respect, where peace is built on justice & justice is guided by love.

2 Ask that God's children will guide the nations of the world into the way of justice & truth & establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness that of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

3 Pray that the Holy Spiirt will stir the hearts of all with the fire of His love & the desire to ensure justice for all, to share freely so that we may secure justice & righteousness.

4 Pray that in this world of conflict, christians will choose to be peacemakers & be involved in reconciliation, bringing healing & the restoration of relationships - taking on the duty to reconcile man to man, man to God, bringing healing & blessing to society, the community & the church.

5 Ask for healing, hope & forgiveness - all those who have fallen victim to hatred & inhumanity, for those loved ones who are left behind to mourn, for the souls of those whose hearts are cold, for the children who are being born into this world of conflict & violence, for women & mothers who suffer needlessly, for all those forced into unemployment due to the effects of globalization & financial fallout, those discriminated from work, for all those who struggle to support their  families.

6 Pray for redemption of the perpetrator, and for those who commit themselves to the forgiveness of sins- so as to seek true transformation of the nation, by transforming one life at a time through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

WMCAS

1 Methodist Women/ Mother's Day 13 May 2012: Praise God for the supportive ministry of women in our church. Ask the Lord for more spiritually gifted women to rise up who are able to exercise strategic leadership from within & without the church at such a time as this in WMCAS & Malaysia. Pray God will raise up women who are blessed with the boldness & decisiveness of prophet Deborah, the garce & quiet strength of Queen Esther, the wisdom of Abigail, the wits & courage of Jael, the unwavering obedience of Mary mother of Jesus & the love & faith of Mary, Martha's sister. Pray for more prayer warriors to be raised in WMCAS, for when women pray God does awesome things in the lives of those who pray & those they pray for.

2 Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) 17 - 27 May 2012: WMCAS will observe GDOP 2012 from 17/5 - 27/5/2012. Prayer booklets for this 10-Day of prayer & fasting (optional) in English & Mandarin will be be distributed on 6 & 13 May. GDOP will be observed on 26/5 (Chinese service) & 27/5 (English service). Pray more from the church will participate faithfully & fervently. Pray more of us will truly humble ourselves, pray & seek God as we turn away from our wicked ways to plead God's forgiveness & petiition Him to heal our nation.

3 World Prayer Assembly (WPA) 14 - 18 May 2012 in Jakarta: Praise God for enabling 6 from our church who are presently in Jakarta participating in the WPA. Uphold them in prayer. They need a fresh anointing from the Lord to be effective in their praying & in their raising up of more prayer intercessors from WMCAS. Pray God will change them & later on to use them to transform our church into a praying & prayerful church.
