1 Learning from missionary David Beebout: 10 & 11/01/2012

David will share from his wealth of experience as a missionary trainer on 2 topics.

1 Knowing God's heart & demonstrating God's love when discipling and

2. Hearing God's voice & obeying God's Word when deciding.

Pray for all participants for these 2 nights of sharing and learning. Pray God will use David to impart to us His wisdom and ways, His will and Word powerfully and impactfully. Pray God will use David to  effectively equip our church leaders for discipling- making and decision- making.

2 Pray at Dawn (PAD) every Saturday morning from 6.00 - 7.00 am

Praise God for those who have been praying faithfully for church, nation and the world weekly at our PAD. When we pray for others, God listens to us and He blesses those we pray for. When we are safe and blessed, remember that someone has been praying for you. It's more blessed to give than to receive. It's more blessed to pray for others than to be prayed for by others. As we start the new year of 2012, please consider or reconsider your participation and commitment to be present at our weekly PAD. Your presence and prayers can and will make a big difference in reviving our church and restoring our nation. God is not blind. He will transform you and answers your prayers when he sees you praying earnestly in intercession.

MALAYSIA

Continue to pray:

  • For fair and clean elections
  • For greater accountability and maturity in the political sphere
  • For politicians to truly place their focus on addressing 'masalah rakyat', and cease the rhetoric of manipulating rakyat's sentiment with racial & religious issues in their campaign against the others
  • Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin exploited the race card tonight when he urged Umno to defend the Malay race, culture and institutions from the opposition Pakatan Rakyat (PR). Hitting out at the DAP in particular, he accused the PR party of being an anti-Islam and anti-Malay force. (29/11/11, http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/mobile/malaysia/article/muhyiddin-uses-race-card-urges-malays-to-reject-pakatan/)
  • The federal opposition accused Umno today of “doing the same as Hitler” after its information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said Malays will lose their rights and power should Pakatan Rakyat (PR) win more seats in the next general election. The deputy minister said at a forum this morning that “the Malay language will be lost, say goodbye to the Malay Sultans ... say goodbye to Islam” if the opposition gains more power as DAP “do not respect the royal institution ... (and) are agents of Christianisation.” (29/11/11, http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/litee/malaysia/article/pakatan-says-umno-taking-after-hitler/)
  • For wisdom & discerning spirit for the rakyat to stand up for justice and political transparency
  • Against the spirit of greed and corruption; and for God's righteousness to penetrate the society and the government

Malaysia's Transparency International Corruption Perception Index (CPI) score has declined for the third year running, this    time falling from 4.4 last year to 4.3. Its international position fell to 60th from 56th place among 183 countries. (2/12/11,http://www.thesundaily.my/news/227054)

Renewed federal government efforts to stamp out graft have failed to stop Malaysia's slide down Transparency International's global corruption perception index (CPI) because of its failure to act on "grand corruption". The integrity body noted that this is prevalent in the awarding of mega projects without open tenders, inflated military procurment and the close nexus between business and politics that is shrouded in secrecy. WORLD

Pray for the children who have suidical thoughts ("The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children" ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer)(http://www.worldcrunch.com/child-suicide-french-study-takes-hard-look-heartbreaking-problem/3858)

    • Yemen is already home to one million child laborers, mostly employed in the fishing industry or agriculture, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor’s Child Labor Combating Unit. With poverty being a key factor in child labor in Yemen, many more families are sending their children to work to boost family income amid increasing food prices caused by the unrest. (6/10/11,http://www.yobserver.com/reports/10021505.html)
    • An estimated 80 schools within conflict zones are inaccessible, of which 36 are occupied by armed groups - denying 120,000 children of their right to education. In Aden, in the south of the country, 76 of 135 schools have been occupied by displaced families from Abiyan, preventing 85,000 children from going to class.
    • Al-Qaida's offshoot in Yemen is recruiting children for suicide missions and other operations. The terrorists are using children in their suicide attacks, using remote-controlled detonators to explode the devices they carry.
