An occasional cry for help to God is no substitute for a daily life of trust in God.

How good and pleasant it is when brothers (and sisters) live (and serve) together in unity. Psalm 133:1
1 LCEC meeting on 8/2/2012: Pray for each LCEC member together with their committee, organization, section or ministry team members as they finalise plans, programmes and their budget for the year 2012 as preparation for the 1st Local Conference. Pray that there will be synergy not only in the coordination of plans & the delegation of personel, but also in prayer and participation not only of leaders but the whole church as well. Pray for harmony in the decision-making process that whatever decisions made will be in accordance to God's will and Word.
2 Discipled to Make Disciples is our 2012 church theme: "Go & make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28: 19 -20.
Without any doubt our church theme this year is in accordance to God's will and Word. Question is 'Are our plans & programmes, our budgetting of financial resources and the channeling of our personel and energies in alignment with God's will and Word?' As responsible leaders have we been seeking the Head of the church in prayer individually and corporately as leaders? How much time have we spent in prayer together before our plans are finalized? Thank Yeshua that He has given us His promise & assurance that He is and will be with us through thick and thin to the very end. Question we need to ask ourselves is 'Are we His church with Him all the way in this Great Commission? Are you being discipled? Are you discipling others in the church?
3 New Pulpit Series: THE APOSTLES - DISCIPLED BY JESUS TO DISCIPLE OTHERS
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others. faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If any speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. 1 Peter 4: 10 -11
We begin a new pulpit series on 5/2/2012 focussing our attention on the first set of disciples who were discipled by Jessus Himself. Pray for our speakers. Pray they will seek the Holy Spirit's empowering to speak the very words of God to the church without diluting or polluting it with their own words of with man's ideas. Pray they will not only encourage or inspire, but be bold to instruct and to correct and do it with grace and gentleness.
MALAYSIA
There is a serious concern that our education system is lob sided in promoting religious faiths. One clear example is the widespread reference of Islam over other faiths in our school history textbooks. This can be construed as a form of indoctrination and imposition of one’s belief onto another. It appears to influence the young minds of various faiths to follow the prophet of one particular religion. It details the study of the prophet’s life and is repeatedly praised throughout the chapters. Students are repeatedly exhorted throughout the book to emulate him as a role model in life. This has created unhappiness and mistrust between religious organizations and the Islamic faith.
Prayer Points:
- Our school history books to be reviewed and corrected for its lob sided emphasis.
- Education curriculum to be more academic than religious.
- All faiths to be given equal coverage to promote understanding and accurate reflection of our pluralistic society
- Religious clubs of other faiths to be allowed in schools.
Sabah & Sarawak:
- Christian parents to be vigilant and watchful over the teachers, curriculum and activities carried out to influence our young minds with one religious slant.
- Christian parents to vigilant and alert that their children are not misled to attend Islamic Religious classes.

Urgent prayer for Christians in Syria
We've all seen and heard about the uprisings in the Arab world. The Middle East is heating up for better or for worse. We talk about fighting for democracy, desiring to see all ethnic groups obtain it, and even children seek some type of democracy of their own. It takes a huge amount of hatred and ignorance for anyone to refuse such democracy, and yet in the mind of fundamentalists and extremists, there is no room for it. This is the struggle of Christians in the Middle East, especially those living in Syria.
The last few months have been some of the hardest times for Christians in Syria, in the fight against corruption. They have united together to support the call to change. Things began to heat up in the streets, and the effort to fight corruption turned into power struggles, where sects in Islam are fighting each other, trying to take control, forcing their beliefs on one another.
Many slogans have been heard throughout the revolution. One in particular goes something like this, “Take the Christian man to the grave and their women to bed.” Hearing hundreds of men in the streets, chanting against Christians, has brought fear into their lives. Fear for the safety of their woman and young children. It has come down to a battle for existence, all because of what they believe. Many stories of Christians being attacked and killed, woman being kidnapped and raped, are being heard throughout Syria. All in the name of Islam and of “Democracy!!”
Please Pray:
· For an end to the bloodshed and that any change of government will lead to greater freedom for the people of Syria
· That the rights of Christians and other religious minorities will be protected
· That the church will have strength to stand firm and bring the light of Christ to their nation.
